If you have ever wanted to be Governor for a day, we’re sorry to say but the 16-year-old student, Bukola Zoffun, has beat you to it.

The senior secondary school student emerged as the winner of the 2017 Lagos State Spelling Bee competition held on June 22, 2016. This landed her the State Governor’s seat for a day. She also won a sum of N250,000.

She had this to say to DailyMail NG, “I am very happy to be part of this competition, and I can tell you that this has given me great exposure that will help me to achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer.”

We are happy to see that she is also passionate about the education of the girl-child. In her own words:

“As the winner of the competition, I will have the opportunity to be the One-Day Governor, and I will equally use this platform to promote the need for girl child education because what I have learnt so far is that every child has a right to education.”

Seems like we have a future SAN and girl-child education activist in the making. We might just be seeing more of her on our TV screens. For more inspiring stories, head over to our Outstanding Kids section.
