Tomisin Ogunnubi is a 12 year old Nigerian student and the inventor of a mobile tracking app called ‘My Locator’. When this news story broke out in November 2016, everyone was really excited and impressed by Tomisin’s amazing accomplishment and at such a young age.
‘My Locator’ is an app that could potentially save thousands of kids from kidnapping and other unfortunate incidents as it contains a geographic tracking functionality. It even has a special feature button that when pressed connects the user to the Lagos State Emergency Service (767).
Tomisin built the app under the supervision of an Information Communication Technology Partnership with her school, Vivian Fowler Memorial College for Girls and New Horizons Computer Learning Centre.
She is living proof that with the right guidance and environment, the sky is only the beginning for our smart, outstanding kids.
